HOW YOU CAN HELP
The Alzheimer Society of Montréal’s Annual Bal
A Night to Remember
In May of 1995, the Alzheimer Society of Montréal held its very first ball at the Museum of Contemporary Art. For over a decade now, the Alzheimer Society has been successfully organising this fundraising event which, over the years, has become the most important ball dedicated to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease in Montreal.
2009 Edition: “Forget-Me-Not” Benefit Event
An Unforgettable Evening at Fairmont - The Queen Elizabeth
The Guardians of Memory* as well as many distinguished guests gathered, on October 21, in the enchanting atmosphere of Fairmont - The Queen Elizabeth at the Forget Me Not benefit event. The event raised the sum of $175,000 dollars for the Alzheimer Society of Montréal.
Led by singer Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, the evening quickly took the form of a quiz, in which the guests had fun while testing their knowledge on the history of the City of Montreal and Alzheimer’s disease. "Each new person diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease carries with them a piece of our collective memory," said Gérald Hubert, Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of Montreal. The quiz was well connected to the theme of the collective memory of Montrealers, as well as the typical Quebec menu, elegant checkered tablecloths and vintage images that scrolled on screen throughout the evening.
